What to expect when you visit

Besides friendly smiles and a warm welcome, we thought you might want to know a bit more about what it's like to visit Chapel in the Woods.

The church building is a house that has been converted into a meeting area in which 40 or 50 of us gather for worship services each Sunday and Wednesday. As for the "woods" part, you may have guessed that we are located in a forested area. We consider this a great asset as it provides a place of refuge from the hustle of the city and offers us a great setting for church activities.

We don't usually have an altar call where people are invited to "come forward" to accept Christ, rededicate their lives, or join the church. We do however encourage these decisions for Christ. If you make a decision we encourage you to speak to the pastor or one of the elders, who would be happy to help you in your growth in Christ. If you would rather not speak to someone right then, there are cards to the side you can fill out to indicate your decision so that we can pray for you. You can also indicate whether you may want to speak to someone later.

What to wear? Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in. If you want to wear a coat and tie or a nice dress that's fine. If you would rather dress more casual that's fine too. Most people lean to the casual side, but as long as your clothing is modest (it is church after all) you will fit right in.
