Upcoming Airsoft Battle
The youth and young adults are planning another Airsoft Battle for Saturday, Feb 27th at 10am. We're inviting you and your friends to join us for a great time as we do battle on our trail system in the woods behind the church. No worries if you don't have an Airsoft gun...we have extras. We'll also be having a cookout for lunch around noon. See you there!
A great workday
Thank you to all who were able to join us this past Saturday, Feb 20th. We had a great day together cleaning up from the snow storm. After clearing about 40-50 pickup truck loads of fallen branches, the property looks wonderful. This was a great example of what the church can accomplish when everyone works together for a common purpose. Imagine what we can do for the cause of Christ when our hearts and minds are united in serving Him!
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
Dallas is not typically known for huge snow storms. In fact it pretty much never happens. But this past week we had the biggest snow storm of the century! We received 11 inches in 24 hours! This meant snowballs, snowmen, and a day off of school. But it also meant houses without power, icy roads, and a lot of downed tree limbs. To see pictures, click here. After this storm Chapel in the Woods looked like a tornado had come through. Most of the cedars on our property lost major limbs, and a couple of the oaks lost significant branches as well. Because of this, we'll be having a work day this Saturday (Feb 20th) to clean up. Many of the men have offered to bring trucks, chainsaws, ropes, etc. and one of our neighbors is bringing us his large chipper/shredder.Men's Ministry Kickoff
The men had a great time at the luncheon Jan.31st. We talked, ate barbecue, and wrestled with what this thing called "manhood" is all about. Shane shared insights from the Bible and then challenged us to consider what obstacles are hindering us from fulfilling God's design for manhood in our own lives.
As we continue growing our Men's Ministry, we're looking for feedback and ideas. We'll be putting together some events, but if you have a suggestion let us know. And if you're a man who would be willing to help lead, please see Shane or Gregg.
